Flea Market Frenzy

The Flea Market Frenzy show didn't turn out as expected. The weather that day was great and there was a beer fest in Frankenmuth that was about ten minutes away. The weather during the weeks before this had been cold. I think everyone was ready for the sun.

Most of the shoppers walking around were the vendors themselves. You win some you lose some.

Besides that, I did have a nice corner space. I was able to spread my handmade goods out for all to see. I even purchased a fold up 6' table for this show (and any future show that will allow a tent). The left half of my long table had my flea market type of things, like sewing patterns, yarn, crochet books, unused craft supplies, scrapbook paper, scrapbook stickers and supplies. The crafty type of things. Everything else was all handmade by me.

I got lots of complements about my handmade things from the other vendors. Most of what others were selling were antiques along with lots of handmade jewelry.

The day ended with a $17 profit which was all spent the following day at the movie theatre with my son. We saw the new Pirates of the Carribean movie along with my good friend.

I will have two shows in June. My next show is the next Art From The Heart on the second Friday of June of course. Then there is Fiesta Mexicana 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Flint, Mi, on June 25 & 26.

I took a rest from crafting but kept busy organizing my craft supplies. Well, some of them. Starting tomorrow the crafting will start once more. Still trying to decide what's first on the list. Hmmm.....

Art From The Heart (May '11)

Jacob and I participated in Art From The Heart that took place on Friday, May 13, 2011. We both had a fantastic time. I really enjoy being a part of this event. I think I had a conversation with just about everyone that came up to my table.

Jacob had a table next to me with his SiD Stories comic. This time he also had episode 2 and of course it ended with ~to be continued... Jacob had some returning fans that had to know what was in store for SiD next.

Here is my table set up. I can never figure out how to set the table up. I had a few small paintings this time that was added to my handmade goods. I really enjoyed watching how excited my little items where making people, especially the Shrinky Dink sugar skull necklaces and bottle cap magnets.

The night before I painted a sloth and some narwhals. Soon after I placed the paintings on my table at the craft show the sloth was sold to someone who said they were going to put it in her little girls room. The little girl was so cute, she kept giving the sloth painting kisses.

Now I can't wait until next months Art From The Heart that Jacob and myself will be a part of again.

Spring Craft Show

Flint Handmade Spring Craft Show was a big hit. The event was on Saturday, May 7, 2011. We had a very beautiful day. Lots of great vendors with lots of great handmade goods.

I had a chance to walk around and check out everyone else' goodies. Talked to a few of the vendors. Everyone was so nice. You could tell everyone was having a nice time.

Crochet Flower Pins

Here are the crochet flower pins I made a couple days ago. Instead of using your everyday average buttons I went with some cute monster buttons along with some sewing theme buttons. In the past I have used cup cake and snack buttons. Might as well change it up a bit.

Finishing Up Last Minute Sewing

Coin purses are all done and ready to go. The aprons are all ironed. Crochet flower pins are done, or at least what's done is done. Cotton tote bags are finished.

For some reason my to do list keeps getting longer. Getting excited! Just trying to make use of my sewing/crafting time.

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Today is my only day off for this week. Getting ready for the Flint Handmade Spring Craft Market on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Will be finishing up projects, making a few more things, and a lot of ironing. But first I have something to do in the kitchen.
