Penguin Coin Purse

Penguin coin purse for a co-worker who had bought fabric for me to make her an apron. I kinda misplaced the original left over fabric so I went out and had to buy a different print. She really loves penguins so I'm pretty sure she won't mind this print. The original fabric was a red print with snowflakes to make a holiday penguin apron. I'm sure I'll come across the red print fabric in a few days since this new coin purse is completed.

Eight aprons were made for someone out of three different fabrics. The first fabric was the orange print on the previous post. The second print was the Day of the Dead.

Here is the third fabric. Carrot bunches.

I have a few sewing projects to work on, then soon after they are completed I will most likely be starting on a whole lot of aprons for future craft shows and for my etsy shop.

Orange Apron

I'm thinking I might post pics of aprons every now and then.

Can't wait till the warm weather gets here so I can sew outside.

Yesterday was the first day of spring and tomorrow there's a snow storm coming. It just wouldn't be Michigan without snow in March. Sometimes April too.

Dorothy Wizard of Oz

Here is the Dorothy Wizard of Oz themed apron I made for an auction coming up this Friday, March 25, 2011.

I was asked if I could make an apron to go along with a Wizard of Oz themed table at an auction. Of course I said yes. This was fun to make. I don't know if you can see it, but the red rick-rack on the pocket is a shinny metallic rick-rack. I wanted to incorporate red for the shoes somehow. Just the right touch.

The auction is the 2011 Cool City Auction to help craft programs for Downtown Flint, Michigan.

Last week wasn't a good week. It started on a sad note and became just a very busy week for all of us. I have nothing creative to post.

I did begin on an apron order and will post pics when completed. Plus I will be working on a special apron that must be finished before Thursday.

Happy crafting everyone :)

Skull Paintings

Just the other day was the last day to submit an application to a local art fair. On the last day I finally get around to painting skulls. I really had no idea how they would turn out. I'm pleased with them. I had a different image in my head but this here is the end result. My favorite is the one I call Rose Skull. The one on the right I titled It's Mr Skull To You. Now I just sit and wait.

I mentioned in the app that the sizes ranged from 3x3" to 10x10". These paintings are 6x6". I hope there are 10x10 canvases out there to buy.

It looks like I may have a new hobby.
